1st National Bank Of Dwight, Dwight, IL

The morning after the Wright Plus tour, we were heading south out of town on our way to see Frank Lloyd Wright’s Dana Thomas house in Springfield, Illinois.  Along the way, we stopped at the First National Bank of Dwight in the sprawling metropolis of Dwight, Illinois.

The bank was designed by Wright in 1906 and still maintains much of its original look.  A drive-up window has been added to the side, but the design fits in perfectly with the rest of the bank.

The stonework is very nice and the signs out front are a beautiful Wright design or at least a good copy. J

Unfortunately we didn’t get to go inside because it was Sunday morning.  That will have to wait for the next trip to Illinois.
