Brno, Czech Republic — [September 24, 2025] — Mirai-intex.com announced a next-generation blood-plasma freezing solution that dramatically shortens processing time while improving product quality and cutting energy use. The new system, part of the MIRAI X CRYO platform, uses ambient air as the refrigerant and is engineered for fast, uniform crystallization of large plasma volumes to support transfusion services and pharmaceutical production.

Faster Freezing, Consistent Results
The company reports complete crystallization of 300 liters in roughly 40 minutes, compared to the 90–120 minutes typical of conventional units. The most critical stage—active crystallization, when plasma transitions to ice—is shortened to around 30 minutes. By accelerating this phase and holding temperature steady, the process helps protect proteins and clotting factors and reduces the formation of large ice crystals. A full cycle can be completed in approximately 6.5 hours, enhancing daily throughput.
Energy and Environmental Advantages
Because the refrigerant is simply air, the system avoids F-gases, ammonia, and COβ circuits, removing the need for refrigerant handling and end-of-life disposal. Facilities also benefit from lower electricity consumption versus legacy technologies, translating to reduced operating costs and a smaller environmental footprint.
Reliability for 24/7 Facilities
The platform is designed for continuous operation with plug-and-run startup, minimal routine maintenance, and no defrosting—the air-cycle architecture prevents evaporator frost. Additional features include low noise and vibration certification, remote monitoring, and automatic restart after client-side power or process interruptions.
More Cycles per Shift
With shorter crystallization phases and no defrost downtime, plasma centers can run more freezing cycles per shift, meeting production targets with fewer units on the floor and reducing capital expenditures for expanding facilities.
Platform Range and Control
MIRAI X CRYO is a closed-cycle, air-refrigerant system that cools or heats a heat-transfer fluid across a +90 °C to −160 °C range with fine temperature precision. Power classes from 10 to 60 kW support diverse ultra-low-temperature needs, including biopharma, semiconductor, coating, and ULT storage.
